Our Story
We’ve Been Restoring Wooden Boats since 1999
Starting out varnishing one Peterborough Cedar strip for a boat show, the varnish work on this boat caught the attention of a well known boat builder Dwight Boyd.
Mike spent the next years varnishing, building and restoring boats under the watchful eye of Dwight at Clarion Boats in Campbellford Ontario.
Michael went on to his own successful business specializing in on-site restoration and repair work in boatyards, marinas, and cottage workshops from Toronto, Muskoka ,Bay of Quinte, and Thousand Islands.
Previous restorations included vintage canoes, cedarstrips, cruisers, runabouts, long deck launches, St Lawrence skiffs, American production boats and the flagship boat of the Thousand Island Boat Museum a 52′ Ditchburn Windswept III.
Many of his restorations have received Best in Class or Best of Show Awards at ACBS judged boat shows.
Lang Wooden Boats now offers a full service wooden boat shop and is located 45 minutes from Kingston Ontario and the Thousand Islands and a short drive from the Canada/US boarder.
